Bliquo is relatively new app in the mobile world and it is available for the Android as well as the iPhone. This is a location aware app which uses your GPS data to give you a list of places around. By places I mean places where might want to go like restaurants, night clubs, bars, etc. And it does so very well.
Bliquo is somewhat like the fantastic personal assistant app Siri in that it gives you the locations that within your area. But Bliquo does only this and it does not have voice activation. But it still does it quite well. It has separate categories through which you can browse and decide what you want.
Reviewers report that the browsing experience is quite snappy and does not lag at all. Even when you are changing categories, it does not take time to fill up the page with relevant entries. So your browsing experience is quite good. It’s database is quite good and it reportedly turns up hundreds of entries in each category when the location permits it. Of course, if you are in the middle of nowhere, you might not get any entry at all simply because there’s nothing there or that the local diner is not documented.
Once you choose something, you will be offered more detail including a street address and phone number. So you can plot your course using Google Maps whilst you call them up for reservation. There are some restaurants that the app can book for you because there’s a tie up between the establishment and the makers of the App but you can expect the number to be quite low for the time being. It might go up.
There’s a free version of the app that is ad supported and the ad-free version is €1.99 on the Android Market.
